Putting in a new furnace, air conditioner or water heater? These are some common projects which require a permit from the City of Ballwin. The Code Enforcement Division of the City of Ballwin is here to help you make sure that any addition or modification to your home is done safely and properly. Ballwin’s inspectors will ensure that your contractor is in compliance with the latest adopted building codes and standards.
The primary requirements to obtain a building permit are: a plot plan (showing the distances between all property lines and any proposed structures), an application for a permit (available at the front desk of the Ballwin Government Center and on Ballwin’s web page), and two sets of plans (showing the scope of the work). All new plumbing installations require a St. Louis County licensed plumber to obtain a plumbing permit from the City of Ballwin. Replacing plumbing fixtures, without changing any piping, does not require a permit. New electrical installations require a licensed electrician to obtain an electrical permit from St. Louis County.
